My mom recently retired as a nurse and started her own interior decor company. I was not surprised when she told me that she was going to start her own interior decor company, because while we were growing up, she had always liked anything that had to do with revamping the house. My siblings always say I am similar to her in that aspect because I have been revamping my house a lot.
My husband and I are planning for the arrival of our baby and since I entered my 2nd trimester, it’s like it unlocked the interior decorator in me. I always surf the net for new interior design trends. Even at work, my colleague has been teasing me about the fact that while other women are dealing with low energy, I have been hyper about revamping my house.
While enjoying my favourite pastime, I stumbled on a new trend of painted interior doors with a bright and playful colour like Sandtex Lake Luceme. If you are looking for a way to bring character to your space without necessarily repainting your walls like accent walls, a painted interior door is the way to go.
Depending on the feel you are going for in your home, a bright coloured door will add energy to any space, while a neutral or muted tone coloured door will help the room feel soothing and peaceful. I painted mine the Sandtex Jealousy because green is my husband’s favourite colour, which was perfect for adding energy to my space.
I even used the Sandtex Gloss Finish which is perfect for buildings, wood/metal and even industrial structures.
My mum came visiting and she has been telling everyone how I have become the mini interior decorator, this was good to hear because my mum hardly gives compliments. She even told me that she was going to suggest Sandtex paints to some of her clients in case they wanted to revamp their house and she asked me which particular paint I used to achieve my painted door.
To my surprise, when I went to my parent’s house last week, they had already painted practically all the doors in my house to a totally new colour and trust me, that is a very big compliment coming from my mum.
Let us know, what do you think of this new trend? Do you have painted the doors in your house and what are their colours?
